Privacy policy

My Little Diary is a personal online diary. Your pages are private unless you choose to share them with friends. This page explains what is stored and why.
What we store
- Your account: your name, email address and Google account ID, which Google shares with us when you sign in with Google. We never see your Google password.
- Your diary: the pages you write (text, date, mood, weather, sports, template, stickers and drawings) and the photos you add.
- Comments and reactions: comments, replies and emoji reactions you leave on pages, and notifications about them (kept for 90 days).
- Your friends: who you are friends with, which friend is your best friend, and friend requests, including the email addresses you send requests to.
- A login cookie: a random code that keeps you logged in for up to 30 days. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
How it is used
Only to run your diary: to log you in, to show you your own pages on any device, and to show the pages you share to the friends you choose. Your diary is not read by us, not sold, and not used for advertising or to train any software.
Sharing with friends
- Every page is private (๐) unless you switch it to ๐ซ Friends, or choose in settings that new pages start shared.
- Your friends can read the pages you share, with their photos, and see your name and email address. Nobody else can.
- Someone you send a friend request to sees your name and email address.
- Switching a page back to private hides it again. A friend's browser may keep a copy of a shared photo for a few minutes.
- Removing a friend stops sharing in both directions.
- Comments and reactions on a page can be seen by the page's owner and by the owner's friends who can see that page. You can delete your own comments, and the page's owner can delete any comment on their page. Tearing out a page deletes its comments and reactions.
Where it is kept
Everything is stored with Cloudflare, which hosts this website and its database. Connections are encrypted (HTTPS).
Your choices
- Use Export in the diary at any time to download a copy of all your pages and photos.
- To delete your account and everything in it, email kaiyanwong@gmail.com from the address you signed up with. It will be removed within 30 days.
